About The Wandering Contemplative

Hi, I’m Tereesa.

In this current journey, I’m a chaplain resident, perpetual question-asker, book hoarder, star gazer, and someone who has somehow become increasingly fascinated by all the things we humans may never fully understand.

I’m married to David, my favorite human, and together we have two miniature dachshunds, Vader and Panini. They’re my little family, my home base, and a huge part of the ordinary life I love so much.

And, somewhere in the middle of all that ordinary life, I started paying attention to what was happening beneath the surface.

I haven’t always been drawn to the deeper things. For a long time, I moved through life mostly on the surface — focused on what was in front of me, what I was supposed to be doing, and probably a lot of things that didn’t matter nearly as much as I though they did.

So, I started asking questions.

And then I started questioning the questions.

And, well…here we are.

The Wandering Contemplative is where I make a home for some of that wandering — the things I’m questioning, noticing, unlearning, becoming, and finding sacred along the way.

I’m curious about the ways we humans try to make sense of whatever is bigger than ourselves. God. Creator. Spirit. The Divine. The Universe. Mystery. We have so many names, stories, traditions, and ways of reaching toward something beyond ourselves — and I think there’s something beautiful about that.

I’m still figuring it out as I go, so thank you for being part of my journey.

Welcome to the wandering.
